Oktoberfest in Downtown Hampton

Several of our local restaurants and breweries have partnered together to bring Oktoberfest to Downtown Hampton! Each location is offering their own themed menu with incredible food and beverages. You can also enjoy a free concert by The Happy Dutchmen, a local  Oompah band, at The Vanguard Brewpub and Distillery on Friday, September 25th!

Brown Chicken Brown Cow
(September 25-October 4)

Celebrate Oktoberfest with the original Spaten Oktoberfest on draft! Created in 1872, the Spaten Oktoberfest is the world's first Oktoberfest (Ur-Maerzen) beer! BCBC will also have Flying Dog Dogtoberfest Marzen and the Bitburger Premium Pilsner on tap and Franziskaner Weissbier and St Pauli N.A. offered in bottle. These heavy beers will pair well with Pretzel Bites. served with beer cheese and mustard!

Be sure to try the German Shepherd's Pie which includes brisket, grass fed hamburger, sausage chunks, carrots, peas, Flying Dog Dogtoberfest Marzen, German potato salad and beer cheese or the Phillip Grimm, named after the fairytale father as it's one hearty sandwich that includes two chicken schnitzel, beer cheese, crispy onion hay, sauerkraut, pickles, Creole mustard, pretzel bun; served with your choice of side. Both of these dishes are $15 each.


Bull Island Brewing Company
(September 25-October 4)

Our waterfront brewery is offering a special Beer Braised Bratwurst that is infused with their German style King Street Kolsch served two ways:

  • Grilled bratwurst sandwich topped with house made sour kraut and stone ground mustard served with kettle potato chips.

  • Grilled bratwurst served atop a red potato hash and topped with beer cheese and our house made sour kraut(optional).


Marker 20
(September 25-October 4)

The Legend Oktoberfest is on draft! This Märzen-style lager boasts flavors of toast, honey, and caramel with an underlying tang. Marker 20 is also serving up the New Realm Bavarian Prince Oktoberfest Beer in can. It’s a Märzen-style Oktoberfest Lager brewed in the German tradition!

Try the Pork Kielbasa with your choice of warm German potato salad or sauerkraut salad with green apple 10. Or try the Sauerbraten & Kartoffelknödel. This beef roast is marinated in red wine, vinegar, and aromatic spices then braised with onions in the same marinade until it's fall apart tender; served with its sauce over traditional potato dumplings. Marker 20 also has Jägerschnitzel & Kartoffelknödel, a boneless pork loin pounded thin, seasoned simply with salt and pepper, then braised until tender, served with creamy mushroom gravy over traditional potato dumplings. End with a slice of Coconut Cream Cake or a piece Black Forest Cheesecake!

Pour Girls
(September 25-October 4)

Pour Girls is offering a delicious roasted brisket marinated in a traditional marinade, served with braised purple cabbage and roasted potatoes as well as beer braised pork knuckles with crispy skin, served with roasted potatoes and purple cabbage. Or you can try the Konigsberger Klopse, which is German meatballs made with pork, beef, herbs and spices, served on a bed of mashers , topped with a creamy caper sauce. Looking for something lighter? Try the Bratwurst Lunch! This lunch special includes a brat, house quick kraut, grilled onions and pg sauce for $7.99. For dessert, try their Black Forest Sin Pie!


Stillwater Tavern
(September 25-October 4)

Stillwater Tavern will offer a Mains German Pork Schnitzel served with Brown Mushroom Gravy and an incredible Bratwurst served with Sauerkraut. Themed sides will include Cucumber Salad German Potato Salad Sauerkraut. Be sure to finish your meal with an Apple Streudel!

The Vanguard Brewpub and Distillery
(
September 19-25th)

The Vanguard is serving up a "Oktoberfest" Caiseal Brew as well as incredible food specials all week long, including a sauerkraut soup and delicious beer brats! Enjoy a free show from the "Happy Dutchmen" on Saturday, September 25th, 6-9pm.


Venture Kitchen
(September 25-October 4)

You’re going to want to try their Bratwurst Rolls or German Style Sweet and Sour Braised Lamb Shank but be sure to save room for dessert! Venture Kitchen is serving up a delicious German Chocolate Cake.

For beer, Venture is offering Wasserhund Oktoberfest Festbier on draft. They’ve also created two special cocktails for Oktoberfest! The first is “The Zeitgeist”, Black Forest Himbeergeist (think German moonshine,) raspberry syrup, prosecco and a twist of orange. They’re also serving up the “Berlin Wall.” This cocktail includes Johnny Walker Black Label, Black Forest Kirschwasser (German cherry brandy), Carpano Antica sweet vermouth, Martini & Rossi dry vermouth, orange juice and a twist of lemon.
